How It Works
To participate in our Term 4 and Term 1 sailing activities you will need to become members of the club. As most of our sailors are under 18 you’ll need to take out a family membership (you’ll all be getting involved!)
If you are over 18 years of age you can take out Individual membership.
Being a member of VA12SC entitles you to take part in club sailing and social activities and either store your boat in our shed or charter one of the club boats.
Once your membership application has been accepted you’ll be taken through a new member induction to explain how the club works, the sailing pathway and the ways you can get involved as a volunteer.
After you have spent a little bit of time at the club you can undertake a club house induction. Upon completion you get your own key and you can use the club house outside of Sunday club sailing (apart from Boxing Day, New Years Day & Australia Day which we auction to the highest bidder at the annual Kutti Cocktails to raise funds for the club).
As well as Sunday racing we have lots of social events:
Dick Winning Fun Day
On the last sailing day before Christmas we have the annual Dick Winning Fun Day - greasy pole, swimming races and a visit from Santa. Always a lot of fun!
In April the whole club sails across to Chowder Bay (with a flotilla of support boats!) for a picnic and beach games.
Friday Night Twilight Sailing
For the 2019/20 season we will be introducing Friday twilight sailing - designed to be as fun for the parents as it is for the kids. Keep an eye on the newsletter for details!
This one is for the hard working parents! The annual fund raising cocktail party in the club house is always a great way to cement friendships and congratulate yourself on a successful season of sailing parenting!
